Injured After 18-Wheeler Driver Loses Control of Rig in Construction Zone in Middletown, OH
It is being reported that David Schindler, 30, of Springboro, and 16-year-old Sydney Waitz-Kudla from of Cincinnati sustained injuries after their respective vehicles were struck by a semi-truck in Middletown, Ohio. Tyrone Warner, 40, of Louisiana, was driving his truck on I-75 near the Ohio 122 exit in a construction zone at a reported "unsafe speed." From the left lane, Warner allegedly struck a concrete barrier on his left and over-corrected twice resulting in the semi-truck jack-knifing into a concrete barrier on the left side of the highway. The truck's cab stopped on top of the barrier and the car driven by Waitz-Kudla was reportedly trapped for several hours. She was ultimately freed and transported to Miami Valley Hospital in serious but stable condition. Schindler was taken to Atrium Medical Center for his injuries and later released. Warner apparently has been charged with failure to control, reckless operation, and vehicular assault. Ironically, he did not sustain injury.
