Deadly Accident Occurs on Lake Michigan Drive

Grand Rapids police were called to a deadly accident last week that occurred on Lake Michigan Drive near Fulton.

When a Good Samaritan stopped to help another vehicle that had gone off the road, he became a victim himself as a third vehicle lost control and slammed into him. Daniel Hayes, 55, was standing between his truck and a Ford pick-up truck when the third vehicle crashed into the cars, pinning him between them.

Witnesses to the accident rushed over to provide CPR but to no avail. At this time local investigators are blaming slippery road for the deadly accident and do not believe that alcohol was a factor in this car accident.
