Dog Euthanized Following Attack
Even though a young boy was warned to stay away from a dog, the owner was fined for the resulting dog bite.
According to official documents, a 7-year-old boy was playing on a playground when a young girl walking an Australian shepherd approached the area. The young boy wanted to pet the dog, but the 11-year-old girl warned him not to approach her dog. Rather than stay away, the boy tried to touch the dog, which responded by biting the boy's ribs, right arm and face. While the boy was transported to a local hospital for treatment, officers were called to the scene of the dog bite.
The owner of the Australian shepherd, the mother of the young girl walking the dog, was eventually fined for the dog bite. Officers cited her for having an unlicensed dog, not having control of a female dog in heat and keeping a vicious dog. As a result of the attack, the dog will be euthanized.
