Grandmother and Grandson Invovled in Rollover Accident

In Detroit, police officers are saying a grandmother was killed and her grandson was injured after a car accident occurred on Monday afternoon. Police say that the grandmother was driving a SUV left on I-96 between Outer Drive and Evergreen Avenue when the vehicle rolled over.
The grandmother, who was 53 years old, was driving a Ford Explorer that veered off the road at 4:00 PM. The vehicle then struck a nearby tree and ended up on I-96. Sergeant Eren Stephens said that the nine-year-old grandson suffered non-threatening injuries during the collision.
Police report that neither occupant was wearing a seat belt. At this time, the names of the victims have not been disclosed to the public.
