Tougher Sanctions For Vicious Dog Owners
On Monday, Rochester Hills City Council directed staff members to draft an amendment to the city ordinance that would impose stronger punishment upon dog owners whose dogs injure people or other animals. City Council President Greg Hooper reportedly indicated that the amendment to the ordinance would not be breed specific but would rather focus on making dog owners more responsible.
According to the Oakland Press, Councilman James Rosen stated that “we have to make the consequences of aggressive dog behavior so onerous…I mean major-league financial penalties and even incarceration.”
