| Family Man Dies After Being Struck By SUV |
James Banister, Jr., family man and religious leader, was killed Wednesday when the tractor he was driving was struck by an SUV. Banister was reportedly mowing the grass on property owned by he and his wife and was traveling north along the southbound lane of Brown Road near Sibley Road in Springport Township at approximately 12:14 p.m. when the collision happened. At that time, a southbound SUV, driven by Clark David Huff of Onondaga, allegedly went of the road and struck the tractor before crossing the northbound lane and striking a tree. Huff is in fair condition at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Banister died before he could be flown by helicopter to a hospital.
